About This Coin
In Chinese culture, the dragon serves as a powerful symbol of imperial authority, wisdom and strength, revered as a divine creature that brings fortune and prosperity.
Historically, only the royal family had the privilege to wear dragon art and embroidery on their clothing and furnishings. The emperor, considered the "true dragon," displayed this symbol prominently on his robes, as a testament to his supremacy.
The coin’s reverse portrays a striking gold dragon depicted above a flaming pearl, surrounded by meaningful patterns of significance in Chinese culture. These include blue cloud patterns, sea waves, mountain peas, bats, peaches, pomegranates, Lingzhi mushrooms, and lotus flowers. Included on the reverse is The Perth Mint’s ‘P’ mintmark.
The Perth Mint will release no more than 500 of the Dragon 2025 3oz Silver Proof Coloured Coin. Each coin is housed in a classic display case within an illustrated shipper and accompanied by a numbered Certificate of Authenticity.
