About This Coin
Unlike the coins found in change, these coins are in uncirculated condition – straight from the Mint and free from the wear and tear of circulating currency.
The iconic designs of Australia’s circulating coins were first introduced in 1966, when Australia transitioned to decimal currency. The $1 and $2 coins were introduced later, in 1984 and 1988 respectively.
To commemorate the 60th anniversary of decimal currency in 2026, all 2026-dated $1 circulating coins feature a special reverse design with six kangaroos instead of the usual five. The $1 coin roll comprises these special ‘Mob of Six Roos’ coins and is a rare opportunity to own them in uncirculated condition.
