The ninth release in the Royal Australian Mint's Colours of Christmas series moves away from traditional festive imagery, pairing the occasion with Australia's coral reefs, a distinctly Australian take on a summer Christmas.

Struck in fine silver to Proof quality, the design draws on the brilliant colours and organic forms of coral, rendered in a kaleidoscope of purple, blue, green, pink, red, orange and yellow set against detailed relief work, evoking sunlight filtering through tropical water. The coin is presented in a bauble-shaped tin finished with swirls of colour and gold detailing, hung from a Mint-branded ribbon.

The 2026 50c Christmas Decoration Coloured Silver Proof Coin is available in Australia from Direct Coins - leading authorised distributor for the Royal Australian Mint since 2012.
