In a desert landscape illuminated by moonlight, a lion bends over a sleeping wandering musician. Although the scene holds a sense of suspense, the animal remains a quiet observer, and the composition captivates with its serenity and mystery. In “The Sleeping Gypsy”, Rousseau brings together simplified forms, vivid colours and a precisely crafted atmosphere, creating a vision poised between dream and reality.

High-quality digital printing captures the remarkable palette, the moonlit glow and the poetic character of this celebrated work, translating it into silver.
